Supple Fitness Pilates Class Descriptions

Pilates 7

Supple Fitness Beginners Pilates

This class is the perfect introduction to the fundamentals and principles of Pilates.  It will take you through the basics. You will learn about alignment, breathing and centring whilst adopting control through the exercises.

Who is this class for?

This class is suitable for those who haven’t experienced exercise in this manner or for a while, pre/post-natal clients and/or rehabilitation.  Tuesday  9.45 is particularly suited to the older adult suffering with, or wanting to help prevent osteoporosis or arthritis. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 12 men over the age of 50 are affected by low bone density.

What can the Beginners class offer me?

This is a gentle class which thoroughly covers all of the basic principles of Pilates. By developing your understanding of the Pilates technique, you will see improvements in your alignment, posture, strength, flexibility, co-ordination and any existing injuries.

“Patience and Persistence are vital qualities in the ultimate successful accomplishment of any worthwhile endeavour.” Joseph Pilates

Supple Fitness (Improvers) Pilates

A progressive class for clients who have completed 16 weeks on the Supple Fitness beginners class and want to challenge themselves further but are not quite ready for a high level improvers class.

What can the improvers class offer me?

An opportunity to improve upon your current Pilates technique in addition to introducing new exercises from the intermediate (mat 1) repertoire in their simplest form.

Supple Fitness (High Level Improvers) Pilates

A unique form of body conditioning using both the mat and small equipment that recaps the beginners to evolving the intermediate (mat 1) repertoire which is more established during this level of class.

Who is this class for?

This class is suitable for people who have experienced Pilates in the past but perhaps have had a few months off through to clients who exercise on a regular basis/ club level  who want to continue to improve their Pilates technique.

What can the High Level Improvers class offer me?

This class is more dynamic than a beginners or improvers class.  Whilst it occasionally recaps the fundamentals  it progresses the intermediate (mat 1) repertoire and starts to prepare the body and mind for mat 2 exercises.

“Contrology (Pilates) is complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Through Contrology you first purposefully acquire complete control of your own body and then through proper repetition of its exercises you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your subconscious activities.” Joseph Pilates

Supple Fitness Intermediate/High Intermediate /Advanced Pilates

This is a very dynamic and challenging class that uses the intermediate-advanced (mat 2) repertoire. Exercises are performed both on the mat and using the mini ball,  thera bands and Pilates circle.

Who is this class for?

This class is most suited to clients who have been practicing Pilates for two years plus and have a lot of previous experience such as dancers and athletes with a solid core.

What can the High Intermediate/ Advanced class offer me?

This class adopts an athletic approach with a flow that is fast paced but allowing just enough recovery after intense exercises. The emphasis is on proper execution of movement at an inspiring level.

A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy callisthenics or forced contortion.” Joseph Pilates
